Is this cruel?

even if the kid's parent/guardian allowed you to do so, annually apply something to him that upsets the stomach but that same exact stuff that you applied to him is for his benefit

If yes, even if you were unaware that what you routinely apply to children (due to the parents letting you) causes upset stomach?

Update:

What gets applied to him strengthens a part of his body but it happens to cause upset stomach.

Update 2:

Is it cruel to upset someone's stomach?

What is being applied? What do you even mean by apply? Be more specific.

I read you loud and clear, sister, and this "annual application" you're referring to is for the child's own benefit. The child needs to expel the black pulp deep from within its bowels in order to complete the rites. If this is not performed as an infant, the fontanelle will close improperly and the fledging horns that rise from the cranium within the next 3-5 years of the child's life may be stunted in growth or outright deformed. Children that perform their annual expulsions will be more likely to achieve perfect spirals, a desirable trait if you would like them to try out for the high school football team or run for senate one day!
