Is the Army desperate for soldiers right now?

Do they need soldiers and officers? I’m seriously considering joining

No. Quite the opposite. So many people have been wanting to join over the past few years.

No they are not desperate.  But fully qualified individuals can still get in.

The US Army almost always needs soldiers as well as officers. Almost all officers come from West Point and Army ROTC. The Army is not desperate however.

The military always needs new service members, people are constantly leaving the military after their enlistment

Nope not at all. They are actually having to delay some going because of covid. Those officers that were in ROTC programs have been delayed as well.
