No, COVID lockdowns and restrictions are the first step to saving capitalism for being destroyed by too much death.

Correction.
It's the last steps.

America will never recover from covid with ignorant people around such as the question asker and others saying it takes away their freedom and rights to have to wear a mask, dying from covid takes away your freedom and rights, well over 2,000 deaths a day.
In Australia we did what was asked of us and we are now basically covid free, one month without any new cases in the whole of Australia, we are slowly getting back to normal, you can too if you did what was asked of you.

Communism is a "work according to ability, receive according to need"- economy, in which the means of production are owned by the workers'/people's local collectives.
The first step towards it would be to stop pampering the rich. Most actual Communists (there are a few thousand in the USA) believe that Communism will not become feasible before several decades or centuries of ( get paid according to your work) Socialism have eradicated scarcity

NOPE - It's called a public health measure, and NOT the first time the EXACT same thing was done!
Once the risk is taken care of - you will NEVER know there was such a thing!
