Can anyone explain what is happening to GE and Baker Hughes?
Prior to 2017, GE had its own oil and gas division and wanted to exit due to heavy losses, and restructuring to focus on core business.
How and why then it continue to buy Baker Hughes in 2017 and then divested the from the purchase taking out both Baker and its own oil and gas division ?

If I cared enough, I would google it and then read SEC filings. I don't. Its not that uncommon for deals to be later gotten rid of as they realize there were no synergies or whatever.
