Of course. They are bred to travel well and last a long time on the shelf.
I only eat fresh summer fruits in the summer when they are ripe, and get local stuff, usually from the farmers markets. If you aren't buying in season it's better to buy frozen, and frozen fruits are frozen at their peak immediatley after harvest. They aren't so good for eating plain but work well for cooking and sauces.

They are just a different variety, I don't find them 'tasteless' just rather small.
