Why are Home Office Leave to Remain fees so high? Are they looking for something to deport people?

If you wish to remain then it is up to you to pay the costs of getting the visa, it is not up to British taxpayers to subsidise/fund you

They want all the low paid foreigners working here to go back home, then we will see the government further slashing benefits forcing Brits into doing those jobs.
They are already throwing out workers rights laws, environmental protections which the British people had under EU laws.A low cost, low tax, economy is what the Tories want, that's how they and their mates all get much richer. I suspect they would like to go back to the time where you work or starve, I am sure they would bring back the workhouses if they could get away with it.

The Home Office charges the economic cost of processing your paperwork so that the burden does not fall on taxpayers. If you find that too expensive it means you are not earning enough and should consider returning home.
