Can I replace the DVD drive to add a SSD in it's place?

If not the optical drive there's only the HHD left. I want to put a 2.5 SSD in it's place so then I can later clone the HHD to SSD as the HHD is slow.

Yes you can. SATA ports can be used for any compatible storage device.

just open the box -- there should be plenty of space inside to mount the SSD -- even the mini boxes i looked at had space for two HDDs and you've only used one
