If I ate UK beef in the past am I at risk for Mad cow disease vCJD?

I heard years ago like back in the 80's it was a high risk. Is it still?

    Bad news:  You're going to die.

    Good news:  It will probably be many years from now.

    Obviously not.  The prion scare of the late 80s/early 90s was pretty risky.

    You can't cook that $#!+ out.
