In Asian horror films, why is it that people who seemed to be perfectly innocent in life become these soulless ghostly killers in death?

It’s the destruction of innocence which causes them to seek revenge. Even on those who are often seemed to be innocent, they’re merely collateral damage or blamed for something they had no control over.

You’ll often find in these films that they’re not just an innocent person who became evil after death for no reason. Something triggers this, like the way they were treated when they were alive so they feel the need to seek revenge.

As to why Asian horror movies do this a lot I’m not exactly sure. It could be a statement on how we treat people or it could be purely for that emotional response they want from their viewers.
