Is it racist to say some white Brits had woolly hair?

Whether a discussion about wooly or kinky hair trends into "racist" territory or not depends much more on the other sentences in the conversation, than it does on the use of such terms that describe physical attributes.

If the discussion implies that people belong to one "race" or another, and that each "race" has distinct inherent strengths, weaknesses, and ways of thinking and feeling - and that every member of each "race" possesses those characteristics -  THEN the discussion is based on racism (regardless of whether it says anything bad or mean about anybody, and regardless of the intent of the speakers).

One of my best friends has woolly blonde hair. He's been like it all his life and no-one thinks it odd.

We are all descended through Adam and Noah so everyone is related to everyone else.
