Why must Senator Cruz always come across as ignorant? He did go to Harvard, right?

Cruz is a trumpster.   The trumpsters have been completely and totally brainwashed.

Ignorance appeals to the ignorant. He needs to get as much as the Trump crowd as possible before any of them  wise up.

He wants to be Trump's replacement, so he's going after the juvenile vote - i.e., the low-information, weak-minded individuals that gave Trump the nomination in 2016. Cruz has a ready-made bloc of shallow thinkers to work on in his nomination campaign that started before Trump's last day in office.
