"Democrats" can't put anybody in federal prison.  It would help if you had a basic knowledge of how the legal system works.

For federal charges (and for many state charges), the first step is a grand jury indictment.  And, while prosecutors can normally get an indictment with no effort for garden variety crimes, "political" charges are different.  Because grand juries are picked by the judges, a grand jury will have a decent mix of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.  So if there is not the evidence to support the charges, the prosecutors will be unable to get an indictment.

Defendants then have a right to a jury trial.  And for a jury trial, the defense has the same input into jury selection as the prosecutors do.  And more importantly, the jury verdict has to be  unanimous.  And the trial is in open court where the media can attend and report on the evidence.  

In other words, the only way that Donald Trump can be sent to prison is if the evidence shows that he is guilty.  Unfortunately for Donald Trump, the evidence shows that he is guilty.

People who go to Federal prisons are guilty of committing Federal crimes. If Trump winds up in one, it's because he deserves to be there -- or do you think everyone in prison is innocent, and just being made an example?
