Many studies have shown that following low calorie diets, including 1,200-calorie diets, can promote weight loss. For example, a study in 2,093 people with obesity demonstrated that a medically supervised 1,200-calorie meal replacement diet resulted in an average fat loss of 4.7% over 12 months ( 6 ).Source(s): http://vapeuaemall.com/

The goal is to gain, not lose, until you have to lose.

Sounds like you're a female so 1200 calories is well below the suggested 2000 daily intake for women and if you're doing regular cardio then you could lose 10 pounds in 3 months on that number of calories pretty easily. You could actually lose it in about a month if you really stick to it

A healthy/balanced diet consists of 50% complex/healthy carbs, 30-35% protein (55 g/day for women, 60g for men), and 20% fats (polyunsaturated, monosaturated and omega-3 fatty acids) https://food.ndtv.com/food-drinks/the-ideal-balanc...
You can determine what your daily calorie intake should be (for fat loss or weight maintenance), based on your body size, sex, age, and activity level here https://www.freedieting.com/calorie-calculator
Losing 10 pounds over 3 months is a realistic and achievable goal.
Fat loss is all about being in a calorie deficit. If you are in a daily calorie deficit of about 500 calories, you should be able to burn abut a pound of stored fat per week. Over 12 weeks (3 months) you should be able to reduce your body fat by a good 10 pounds.Fat loss is 80% diet. Exercise can burn a few more calories per day, which is great, but weight loss is abut diet. Even working out without weights should increase your muscle mass, which could also increase your weight. This is fine because muscles are good. The provide definition and are essential for daily living. Adding a couple of pounds of muscle will make you look and feel better. Also, be realistic about your exercise. You don't need to exercise to hours a day. That isn't something most people can do. Instead, find a full body HIIT workout (100s on YouTube) and get in the habit of doing a good 30-60 minute workout a day. Back to the diet. Cutting out processed foods, including most grain-based products, could increase your ability to burn fat. Our bodies can burn either glucose from carbs or ketones from fat. We will always burn easy-to-use glucose from food before we burn fat from our bodies. The more arbs we eat -- even whole grains -- the more glucose we have in our blood and the more insulin we produce to carry that glucose to our cells. As long as we have insulin delivering glucose, our bodies can't burn stored fat. I'm also strongly encourage you not to fixate on a number on a scale. Weighing 110 isn't really the goal. The goals for you should be increased health, fitness, energy, and self-confidence. Develop long-term lifestyle changes that you can keep up. If you don't, you'll soon put weight/fat back on and lose muscle. Learn to fuel your nutritional needs at a calorie count that will stabilize you at a health weight. Develop an exercise routine that you can do even when your schedule is busy.
A calorie deficit just makes you hungry. Try a high fat low carb diet, like Ketogenic or Atkins. You'll lose weight, guaranteed. And once you've lost the weight you really have to be mindful about what you're eating for the rest of your life. Otherwise, you'll gain it all back (like most people do)

This should bring about losing around one to two pounds each week. In any case, in the event that you have a great deal of weight to lose, you might have the option to cut in excess of 500 calories, however ought to talk with a specialist prior to doing as such to ensure you're actually getting all of the supplements you require, Primack says.
