Your opinion?

I’ve been on keto for almost a month staying under 25g net carbs per day and haven’t cheated once and have lost weight however last weekend a friend kept picking on me about my diet so I decided to get chicken and rice with yum yum at the Japanese steakhouse I didn’t eat much even though he got me a large bowl maybe half but that’s all I ate all day I didn’t gain any weight and still feel normal did I go over my carb limit will I be ok do u think in a few days the weight will come back I lost?

    Rice isn't one of the suggested foods on keto, as you know, and it's because rice is overloaded with carbs.  If you eat one serving of rice, you're not going to gain weight. It's impossible. I wouldn't make a weekly habit of it.

    I've used keto almost strictly for five years. Lost my weight during the first year.  I feel better without the processed foods and high carb stuff.  So i just stay with keto foods 95% of the time.

    If you're this obsessive and concerned, it sounds like you could have an eating disorder.  Your eating has had an impact on your social life, which is a red flag, and your friends have also noticed, which is another indicator.

    Hey there.   Sorry your diet isn't sustainable and so restrictive.   It doesn't have to be,  but there is one class of carbohydrates that must not be consumed regularly: sugars. 

    Cheif among these is fructose,  which actually makes you sick and fat(ter).

    The only sugars that don't cause liver dysfunction are lactose and galactose (milk/dairy).

    Here is a list of fructose outside of whole foods sources: sugar, HFCS, honey, nectar, juice, molasses, syrups and white wheat flour products).

    Rice has no fructose,  so it is not a 'heavy hitter', but the starch is made of glucose,  and too much glucose ingested will eventually cause liver dysfunction...but NOT if the rice is whole grain. 

    Japanese means likely white (nor whole) jasmine rice, but even white rice still has (insufficient for daily use) fiber to partially mitigate the glucose bolus inside. 

    AKA periodic sugar consumption won't kill you and probably won't make you fat,  but regular use WILL.

    So, rice bowls once in a while are fine.   Just not most of the time.

    What's more concerning is the sugar content of the Teriyaki or whichever dish you got.

    Again,  once or twice a month, no big deal,  but three times a week and sick you shall become. 

    I bet that you didn't know that what causes most obesity/fat is also what causes most adult acne,  diabetes II and heart disease.
