There are mirrors on the moon on which pulses of light can be transmitted and the time recorded to determine the distance between the moon and the Earth. If a pulse of light is sent to the moon and completes the round-trip in 2.562s, calculate the distance from the Earth to the Moon.

    distance d = c*t/2 = 150,000*2.562 = 384,300 km

    Divide the time by two and multiply it by the speed of light. Magic!
